Why have a Guinness bath of course!
Grandbaby#2 is named Harriet, a lovely old-fashioned name. We’ve been doing the chicken and ginger and other chinese recipes. Bub is going gangbusters with feeding.
Mum’s going well with her cesarean wound glued (yes, GLUED) on the outside and stitched on the inside. All of a sudden, Dad asks “And when are we going to do the Guinness bath?” I was taken aback! In the hullabulloo over Harriet, I had all but forgotten about the Guinness bath!
Felix, Grandbaby#1, had one at 2 weeks or so, and he has beautiful skin (and eyes and hair, but you know I am totally objective). So pleased that Ally reminded us all.
Harriet had hers on St Patrick’s day. 5 large bottles of stout went into the bath, with warm water. One large bottle went into the fridge for Dad, well done!
In case you’d never heard about this practice, read my earlier post. While Felix was completely chilled about the Guinness, Harriet despised it and squarked in protest. Ah, silly girl, all in the name of beautiful skin, you’ll thank us later!
Would you have other funny practices for newborn’s health?
